Disney's Magnolia golf course went through a lengthy refurbishment and recently re-opened as a 14-hole golf course with a new fleet of Yamaha golf carts with expanded technology. It showcases new teeing grounds with over seeded Bermuda grass, newly contoured greens for pristine putting surfaces, and reimagined green side and fairway bunkers. A full 18 holes will be available later this year.
Some updates includes redesigning the fourteenth hole from a par five to a four, converting and relocating the par-three fifteenth into a long par five, converting the seventeenth from a par four to a three, and shifting the par-four sixteenth to play with a dogleg left.
Walt Disney's golf courses including the Magnolia are operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management. The redesign was done by Ken Baker of One Club Limited with contractor Heritage Links executing the work.
The Magnolia golf course opened the same day as Magic Kingdom on October 1st in 1971 along with the Palm golf course. The course was most recently renovated in 2015.
Guests at check in will receive a 33% discount on green fees while playing during the refurbishment. Disney offers two 18-hole courses in the meantime, Disney's Palm and Disney's Lake Buena Vista golf courses.
