How it Works
Upon arriving at iFly, you'll first observe others from the flight deck. From there, you participate in classroom training where the instructors teach about the hand signals they use and about proper body positioning. All flight instructors are trained and certified by the International Bodyflight Association (IBA). Instructors encourage questions and concerns and most of all, want you to relax and have fun!
"Gear Up" counter is your next stop after classroom training. Here you receive the necessary equipment including goggles, a helmet, and a flight suit. You'll feel like a real pro as you enter the flight chamber for the first time. An instructor will assist you with entering, your flight, and with exiting the chamber—they'll even entertain you with a special show of their own abilities after your session.
The wind tunnel provides an experience like no other. With little training and the assistance of a certified instructor, you can feel the freedom of flying in a safely controlled environment. Chances are the experience will be so exhilarating, you'll want to return again and again.
Sport of Bodyflight provides 5 different levels, providing opportunities for advancing your skills:
Level One—First-time flight, fly with an instructor
Two—Balanced flying, turn left and right, forward and backward
Three—Fly up/down, faster/slower, advanced entrance and solo exit, side sliding
Four—Fly with instructor or friend, create formations, solo high flight
Five—Back flying, tunnel games, flips and tricks
Just as with any sport, the more you practice, the better you become. The sky is the limit with this sport—it's just an indoor sky! There's no weather to contend with, making this great fun year-round.
