Opening May 27th at Epcot as part of Disney World's 50th Anniversary, the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind rollercoaster (located in World Discovery) will take you on an intergalactic chase through time and space.
It is a family-thrill attraction that will feature the first-ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world. It also rotates 360 degrees, a new innovation from Walt Disney Imagineering. Join Groot, Gamora, masked Star-Lord (asleep at the wheel), and Rocket (who takes control) on an urgent mission when a distress signal is sounded aboard the Benetar from the Nova Corps.
The Galaxarium, a planetarium-like exhibition, showcases the similarities and differences between Xandar and Earth's galaxies including the wonders and their technology as you begin your adventure.
The final mix of songs for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind includes six classics such as September by Earth, Wind & Fire, Disco Inferno by the Trammps, Conga by Miami Sound Machine, Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears, I ran by a Flock of Seagulls, and One Way or Another by Blondie.
Guests will have to be at least 42 inches tall in order to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
